Microsoft unveiled its latest operating system, Windows 7, at the company' Professional Developers Conference, wich started in Los Angeles on monday.

The company hasn't stablished yet a release date, but rumors are circulating that the OS could arrive as soon as early 2009.

Microsoft claims that Windows 7 will be an improved version of Vista and expects that the new product would eliminate some of the problems that continue to define the Windows Vista's reputation.

Users complain that the Vista fails to run some applications and that the system requires much more memory that Windows XP. Many corporate users even asked to have their computers downgraded to XP.

Microsoft has been declined so far to disclose what features the new operative system will have, but promises that there will be much greater compatibility between Vista and Windows 7.
