2010-01-18 Microsoft has complied with a court order that forces the company to remove Office from online stores. This past Monday pulled a number of versions of Office from its own online stores. The problem is the contested XML format, a technology that Microsoft is ordered to remove from its Office applications.

Microsoft: Patent veredict is overturned
2009-09-30 This past tuesday a federal court reversed a previous ruling that said that their product activation technology was infringing on a pre-existing patent. The amount involved is 388 million dollars.
"We are pleased that the court has vacated the jury verdict and entered judgment in favor of Microsoft," Microsoft spokesman Kevin Kutz said in a statement.

Microsoft releases free anti-virus
2009-09-30 Microsoft launched today its free anti-malware service pack, making it available following a limited three month, three country beta test.
The success of the preliminary beta test was hailed as a great beginning for the free tool.
